*The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a United States Federal regulation focusing on accessibility in public places. There are several sections of this act that directly affect retail establishments. Opto International, Inc. makes every effort to be in compliance with the ADA; however, it is possible to design a counter that is not in compliance. Please be sure to check with your retail contractor or visit ada.gov for more information. In addition to the ADA, your state or local government may impose additional (and more strict) accessibility requirements for retail counters. Check with your local government to make sure your Opto counter configuration is in compliance.

4. Determine Ledge Size and Location

Based on the desired counter configuration, ledges may be specified. Ledges add an additional 5" of height, provide a writing surface, and create appropriate separation between the sales associate and shopper.
